freedom isn't free

Last weekend I was able to go home and spend time with my family for the 4th. It was a much needed break, and I spent my time very wisely (for once).

My favorite parts:

eating at the Lion House,

swimming with cousins at the pool,

shopping with my mom for the party,

stadium of fire,

featuring an awesome sunset and Carrie Underwood,

throwing a sweet 4th of July party

and seeing a lot of family and friends,

wearing lots of red, white, & blue

and going to the annual scout breakfast.

My least favorite part?

saying goodbye.

I already miss that boy.

It was so fun to celebrate America's birthday with family, friends, food, and  fireworks. It was bittersweet this year to truly reflect on the price of freedom by sending one of our own off to fight for and protect it. Our family is so blessed, and I am grateful that Steven is willing to serve so that others can one day have the same freedoms and liberties we enjoy.
